Health Benefits:
Buckwheat lettuce aids in digestion, elimination, and helps with circulation. Buckwheat Lettuce helps to lower blood pressure and balances blood sugar. It also promotes
well-being, helping with anxiety, depression, brain fog, and mental fatigue. Buckwheat lettuce is (not recommended for juicing) due to the pigment fagopyrin, which can cause photo sensitivity, skin irritation, itching, tingling in the hands and face and sensitivity to cold, if consumed in excess.
Growing Instructions:
Rinse seeds thoroughly before soaking.
Soak 1-2 cups of seed in cool water for 8-12 hours.
Drain off soak water. Never soak them again.
Rinse and Drain thoroughly.
Plant on a thoroughly moistened medium. Using a 10” x 20” growing tray.
Cover your crop with another tray for 2 days, to keep the light out and keep the seeds moist.
Keep your medium moist by watering lightly (mist) every 12 hours or as needed.
When your plants have begun to show leaves, remove cover and move your crop to a well-lit location.
Harvest when the leaves are open and most of them are green. (7-9 days).
Cut just above the medium, with a scissors or vegetable knife.
Store in an Evert Fresh produce bag. Keep refrigerated below 39 degrees.
Sprouts will stay fresh 5-10 days. (Keep dry)
